\n \n Tennessee Professional Archive of Learning (TNPAL) is the official system of record for qualifications, training, and professional development for child care providers licensed by the Tennessee Department of Human Services (TDHS) effective January 01, 2022. This free resource is designed to better support professional development and empower early childhood professionals who work in TDHS-licensed child care agencies by collecting and preserving completed trainings, accomplishments, credentials, education, certifications, and awards. TNPAL also directly supports verification of these records by directors and TDHS for compliance and regulatory purposes.\n

\n \n TNPAL helps educators, directors, and other staff of child care agencies licensed by the Tennessee\n Department of Human Services (TDHS) to meet their training requirements.\n
\n\n Using the TNPAL professional development plan feature helps you better identify trainings you WANT and\n links you to training organizations.\n

\n\n Your PDP is set up so you can reflect on the professional development you want and make a plan for getting\n what you need to grow as an early childhood professional. Collaborating with state-designated coaches may\n further help you identify and reach your goals.\n
\n\n Your PDP is developed as each tab is completed. Once created, you can access and update your PDP throughout\n your career no matter where you are working in early childhood education!\n

\n \n The Self-Assessment Tab is where you think about what skills and knowledge you already have and consider what\n skills and knowledge you need to grow as an early childhood professional.\n
\n\n The Core Content and Competency Areas below guide you to group what you know and the skills you want to\n develop. Click on each or select a few.\n

When you click on the Core Content and Competency Area, the Topics of required training\n automatically appear. Notes show how many hours and how often training is required. If no note appears, this\n training may be required annually.\n

\n \n The PDP Goals Tab is where you will write professional development short term goals and identify them by Core\n Content and Competency Area.\n
\n\n Some of your goals may cross over several areas. What is your primary goal? What do you want to achieve? Ask\n yourself these questions and think about the strategies you will take and what you need to be successful.\n
\n\n Working with your supervisor or a coach may help you set realistic, achievable, and measurable goals so you\n can see your progress.\n
\n\n The Alabama Pathways Professional Development Lattice is a system that provides early care and education\n professionals with a tool to track their professional development. Each user can identify her/his current\n place on the lattice, as well as the progressive path to enhanced training and education within the field of\n early care and education.\n
\n\n The Alabama Pathways Professional Development Lattice reflects eight levels of training and education to guide\n caregivers and teachers of children from birth through 12 years on the path that promotes high-quality care\n and education.\n
\n\n The levels include training, credentials, certificates, and degrees in child development, early childhood\n education, and elementary education, with a focus on knowledge and skills specific to early care and\n education. The training and education resources include agencies, organizations, and institutions that provide\n training and education specific to early childhood and school-age care.\n
